After growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I spent four years in San Luis Obispo getting my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Cal Poly State University. I went on to work for the California Conservation Corps and Student Conservation Association leading youth trail crews and environmental education in urban areas and backcountry wilderness. I have spent years pursuing outdoor adventures, and I understand the stresses that can be placed on our bodies from an active lifestyle. I also understand the frustration of injury and pain preventing you from doing the activities you love. I am committed to helping you discover what feeling healthy means to you, and I will take time to listen to your story.
I have been a licensed bodyworker for 8 years and currently run a private practice in Carpinteria, CA and do massage at San Ysidro Ranch. I am a consultant for Squeeze Massage, an elected board member for AMTA California, and a teaching assistant for the Pacific Northwest School of Massage, which offers classes for muscle-specific deep tissue techniques around the world.
I am an instructor for Kind Mind, teaching mindfulness at elementary schools in Santa Barbara. I am also a facilitator for the Alternatives to Violence Project leading groups of inmates at Lompoc Federal Prison and groups of youth in Santa Barbara, where we practice creative and healthy responses to conflict and violence.
I was previously a medical massage practitioner for Paul Perrotta Massage Associates and Monroe Therapeutic Massage in Seattle, WA.
